Trash Your Dress Photo Shoot

When I told my wife I was going to participate in a Trash the Dress photography shoot, she thought the idea absurd. But for many of today’s brides, getting after-wedding photos done is a great way to get fashionable photos that can’t always be taken on your wedding day. After-wedding photo shoots are also not limited to “trash your dress” shoots, they can include formal, more light controlled photo shoots designed to capture you and your wedding dress in all your glory.

The Wedding of Misara & Jerry

Experienced and photographed a very touching and beautiful wedding held at the Haggin Oaks Golf course. Misara and Jerry, recent graduates of California State University, Sacramento, tied the knot and partied well into the night with family and friends. The weather was nice, the butterflies were out, and I really enjoyed the work of photographing their special day.

Marissa & J.P.

Marissa and J.P. recently got married at the McConnell Estates Winery, in the Laguna/Elk Grove area of Sacramento. Marissa and J.P. had a lovely, well organized wedding, that I was happy to be a part of.

In addition to getting married, Marissa just graduated from California State University, Sonoma, while J.P. was stationed in the military in Alaska. They are great couple with a very supportive family and friends.

Congratulations, Marissa and J.P. on your recent union.

Jerry & Misara

I’m happy to present Jerry & Misara, both graduates of California State University, Sacramento. CSUS is my alma mater, so it brought back memories when we held their engagement photos session there a few weeks ago.

Jerry and Misara will be holding their wedding day on July 11, at the popular Haggin Oaks Golf Course. My friend, Joni Faust coordinates weddings there, so Jerry and Misara will well taken care of.

It’s going to be great wedding, because this couple is a joy to work with it, and they have a great future planned for one another.

Slide Shows with a Twist

Slide shows are a great way to show off your photos. But in the digital age, slide show presentations are no longer stuck in old school tradition.

I’m starting to use an exciting slide show service that actually turns selected photos into awesome, zesty movies where your photos are not shown just one at time, but are delivered to the beat of background music with cool Hollywood-style transitions.

I like this slide show service so much that all my engagement sessions will include a 30 second to minute production that you can post on your favorite web site (Facebook, Youtube, MySpace, Blogger, etc.), your iPhone or iPod touch, or your computer.

James & Jennifer

I’m late in making this post, but it was simply great to photograph James and Jennifer’s wedding this past summer off of Clementia Lake in Rancho Murieta. We all feared rained during the wedding, but this beautiful couple got lucky as the sun shined through the grey clouds allowing for a really great outdoor wedding.

Portrait Photography

Anytime of the year is great for portrait photography. I typically provide great deals in the off wedding season for portrait shoots. My portrait shoots are done outdoors, which helps keep cost down by not having to maintain an in-house studio and adjoining equipment.

However, I can do on-location photo sessions at your home or place of business. Lighting equipment can be brought in to to do the shoots.

This recent shoot is of Amal and Ambar was done at the Capitol Rose Gardens in downtown Sacramento. Unfortunately, when we all arrived there, the rose bushes were all cut, but we still managed to find nice spots of the photo session. Amal and Ambar are recent UC Davis graduates and are planning to attend the upcoming President-elect Obama inaugural. These two sisters are very beautiful and it was a joy to photograph them.

Your Wedding Photos on Your iPhone

Do you have an iPhone or iPod? If so, let me know and I will resize your selected photos so they can be stored and shown on what is probably your favorite gadget. The screen resolution of your iPhone or iPod is really great, and your photos will look nearly as colorful and dynamic as they do in print. Storing some of your photos on your Apple device is also a another great way to back-up selected images for safe keeping. Formatting your photos is a feature of all my wedding packages. Be sure to have yours done.

My New logo

I’m proud to announce that thanks to a very creative and talented designer, I have a new business logo that I can wait to show off on my photos, business cards, emails, and advertisements. I wanted a logo with a distinctive look, and the designer Lucrecer Braxton did that for me. She was easy to work with, offering me nice set of options to choose from. I had been trying to design my own logo but I wasn’t coming up with anything I liked, so I went to a professional and got the job done right.
